The Norse gods, like the gods of Greece, Roman, or the Aztec follow a simular theme. A group of humanoid looking beings that had power greater than a normal human came down to earth. Many of them could fly, change shape and teach mankind the arts of war, city building and other subjects. For example: the square root of the Great pyramid = the speed of light.
My point is pagainism has existed from the fall of man. It is called worshiping the creation. Not the creator. All of these misleading religious and political systems allow man to consider himself a god, worship a false god, or believe there is no one true G-d of the Universe.
"And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die: This was a half truth. Eve died spitually at the touch of it. Physically, much later.
We can see how humans were mislead by Old Knob. It is the same in all the pagan religions. Being mislead.
There is truth. G-d is truth, the Word of G-d is truth and the Holy Spirit of G-d is truth. The world system is full of lies and it loves it's own.
Thank you for posting MAJ. I'm pretty sure I worshiped Thor for about 18 years playing Rugby and having a few toasts. I did not, or choose not to realize it.

I never wrote I think people have to believe as I do. Also, I am aware Christ was murdered by the Romans around 32AD.
For me, he rose from the dead after living a perfect life inside a human body. You know, not murdering, hating or raping.
If people do not wish to believe that, I do not think they should have their head cut off, burned at the stake or imprisoned.
Have a good day.

MAJ (Join to see) - It is ironic that Christians, by and large will not acknowledge Jewish roots until it is convenient for them. And there is bountiful evidence of religions stealing ideas and concepts from one another. There are several volumes how emperor Constantine introduced Pagan rituals into Christianity to encourage conversions.
I don't have an issue with anyone's religious beliefs. Until they start intruding upon my life. Not saying either of you gentlemen have, just my personal rule of thumb for life. Good day to you both.

I agree, the Universal Church has brought paganism into Christianity. Easter being the biggest one and the communion turning into flesh and blood over and over.
True Christianity is following the Apostles not man's tradition. Christianity is not a religion. It is a relationship to the Creator.

SPC Casey Ashfield - I'm not sure how any Christian could deny Jewish roots. I've never heard a Christian say anything like that. Not to say that it hasn't been said but when your Messiah was Himself Jewish, there aren't a lot of options there.
I understand the concept of stealing ideas but there is no proof of Christianity stealing ideas from another religion and calling it their own. Someone can say it happened or that they think it probably happened since it has happened elsewhere. But that's hardly conclusive. Taking a pagan "thing" and giving it a Christian "spin" is different than stealing an idea and calling it your own. At least in my opinion. For instance, no one wrote that man was made in the image of God because another religion said it first. However, did they take the Christmas tree and make it a symbol of a Christian holiday? Perhaps. So when I say Christians didn't steal ideas, I'm talking about the theology found in the Bible. Not Easter eggs and Christmas trees.
