In the mid-2000s the US Army decided to field the 7.62 mm M110 SASS to supplement the popular bolt-action Remington M24 7.62 mm Sniper Weapon System.
The service then decided upon a major overhaul of the M24, turning existing stocks of the weapon into the M2010 Enhanced Sniper Rifle.
Jane's Infantry Weapons notes that the M2010 - first operationally deployed to Afghanistan in 2011 - includes a rechambered barrel to accommodate Mk 248 .300 Win Mag ammunition, replacement of the existing Weaver rail with a MIL-STD-1913 rail, a new stock that incorporates a detachable 5-round box magazine, and a detachable sound suppressor.

H&K builds a quality weapon. It's a shame Colt can't be competitive with FN & H&K. It will be a shame to have the American military outfitted with foreign weapons, but if that is the best available it's what they deserve.

I'm sure the HK is an improvement but the Remington/ JP M11 cannot be beat, in performance or price.

I ordered one of these stocks......$122 online. Use your regular M80's and put 5 (M 118's) in the 5 rounder in the stock for reaching out......
