Uhraa and Semper Fi! Nice website looks clean and easy to navigate. I did not see any links. Links maybe a good way to help people navigate to your site. Not sure where you are at with your planning but perhaps find a few other veterans to share their successes and difficulties. Every state has a veterans office and other job resources that may be of interest to your readers.

Thanks Kurtis! I appreciate the tips, didn't think about the vet job resources. Should I add more links within the site or in my posts to navigate to the site? Also, would you or any of your vet contacts in professional roles be willing to do an interview. I would like to see your thoughts on the questions in the interview, I am sure there are some improvement opportunities there. Either way, thanks!

Matt,
Most sites have a resources or links tab. Are there any specific fields that you are looking for (e.g. IT, accounting, COUP (continuity of operations), etc.)? Questions - I would like back to the barriers that you faced and and to overcome and use that as the basis for your questions. Use exploratory or open ended question that draw out the response and make it a conversation. Some of the opportunities that I have seen when interviewing veterans is that many to not know how to translate their MOS into "civilian-speak".
The military does an outstanding job at training civilians to be service members but does not do the best job in reversing that process. Military life is a sub-culture within the American society.
I am not sure on how to coach service members without direct interaction on how to easily shift from one cultural mindset to another. Perhaps one of the questions could focus on changing the mindset.

I think it is a great website. The articles seem very helpful and geared toward making that transition. I liked the testimonials from other vets about what they learned in service and how it helped them in transition.

Thanks David I appreciate the feedback. I will continue to build more testimonials over time and add additional career fields to learn about. If you or any other vets in professional roles would like to do an interview, that would be much appreciated as well! Thanks again.
