Thanks for letting us know PO1 William "Chip" Nagel. To be honest I find it somewhat sad that letters which are most likely intended to be personal may well be auctioned off when somebody in a future generation wants cash more than a treasured memory of days gone by.

PO1 William "Chip" Nagel - Thankfully Ernest Hemingway published much before he killed himself on July 2, 1961. Since that point other manuscripts have been published.
As many groups have been trying to capture the experiences of WWI and WWII veterans, those recordings and letters are being entered into the public domain unless the descendants object.
Many letters have been entered into the public domain in some cases with redacted passages.

PO1 William "Chip" Nagel Thanx for the share. As a man who has written every novel and short story Hemmingway wrote, I was pleased to read this new information (even if only new to me).

PO1 William "Chip" Nagel - I don't know. Have you read the love scenes in "For Whom The Bell Toll's"? Some of the most powerful love scenes in modern writing.
