Amazing how many great people were lost to tuberculosis in the past. Really makes you appreciate modern medicine and question why people refuse vaccinations.

I could name a half dozen easily. Even when I was growing up, there were many bad diseases. I myself had scarlet fever, rubella, measles, and chicken pox. I had the measles and remember my mother tacking up blankets on all the windows until I was well. I had the chicken pox two weeks after the measles. Lt Col John (Jack) Christensen

Measles is one that seems to be coming back because people don't get vaccinations. Remember when I had chicken pox I also had them internally and couldn't keep food down if I was able to eat anything at all. Was on verge of going to hospital the next morning when mom made split pea soup which I was finally able to keep in me. Have loved split pea soup ever since, but a bit hot in Florida to have very often.

I know that Henry David Thoreau wrote "Walden". And, I know that Thoreau believed in GOD.
