Good to see overseas projects listed. Makes sense to spend the money at home first.

I guess you didn't understand that the "overseas projects" are on US military bases, affecting *our* troops. Maybe you aren't aware that even overseas, "Buy American" is the standard so this is money that will now not go to US companies and workers. This is setting aside the obvious point that the wall project is far, far, far less necessary than a fire station, training center, or any of the other hundreds of projects now being cut that were intended to improve our military readiness and troop safety. I do not see how hurting the military is something any of us would back, all partisanship aside.

COL Brian Shea when I was in and in the states I would have loved to work on the wall it's something to do besides cleaning your gun and doing busy work. I wanted a real project of some kind because it was boring unless you are deployed. There's equipment just sitting at military bases. Like fort Leonard mo and fort Lewis Washington only being used for training have the engineers do it. But either way the wall is very important because the situation is bad on many levels.

I'm stretching some memory cells here, but I recall hearing something awhile back about the military not being able to compete with civilian contractors. Don't recall the specifics, but it could be why they moved the money to build it instead of using, as you suggest, existing military resources. It is sad, because as you say, our military could be bolstering national security by building the wall. And I have to wonder how much of the total cost will go towards labor. Funny that we can engage in "Nation Building" everywhere but at home.
