The worst part is they outsource their customer service overseas. Last time I called to resolve an issue the lady I spoke with used broken english with a thick accent. I just don't see why Equifax, TransUnion & Experian are still around, they should be replaced with just a single credit bureau. With identity theft on the rise, dealing with 3 bureaus is going to be a painful experience in court and over the phone.

I'm a little confused by your information. 6.8 billion? Their budget doesn't reflect anything like that number. As a matter of fact, if you search this actual budget from that department, the only time that number is mentioned (all 1 times) it is in reference to them having supervisory authority over banking and non-banking institutions. So there's that.

I see. I checked and saw that the hack happened in May to July and that the proposed budget you're referring to was reported on in May of 2017.
I mean, I get that you despise Trump, but the budget and the hack happened almost at the same time and you post like President Trump proposed cutting it AFTER the hack happened. The hack was announced on September 8th. Republicans have been trying to cut the CFPB since it was made in 2011. Mostly because the CFPBs power is widely thought to be a major over-reach. Regardless, you really don't need to worry about it, because Congress doesn't give them their budget. The money comes from the Fed.
