The story makes it appear that this only extends eligibility for Tricare to Dual Status Technicians, it's actually even better, all Guard and Reserve members who are eligible for FEHB (Federal Employee Health Benefits) can now enroll in Tricare Reserve Select (TRS). Previously anyone eligible for FEHB was ineligible for TRS, this includes Dual Status Technicians, Federal Civilian Employees, and any Soldier married to one of the aforementioned persons. This is a huge win for Government Employees!

SSG (Join to see) They still haven’t done anything about dual-status techs not being eligible for retention incentives.

SSG (Join to see) yeah, I’m a late joiner who already had a masters, no loan repayment, no signing bonus, can’t use TA for doctoral work, I’m pretty sure I’ll gap retention bonuses all the way to 2035.
