CPO (Join to see) For those who won't believe, no amount of proof is enough. For those who believe, no proof is necessary.

I live in a very rural Northern Michigan county. I think the world of our Sheriff's Dept. I am friends with most of them. And they are honest with me, on a typical night, unless the stars align perfectly; they are probably 15-25 minutes out from a home invasion or active shooter call. If they have more than two significant incidents at one time, we're probably on our own for at least an hour.

My wife and I have planned accordingly. We have a home defense plan that uses every bit of my infantry and strategic facility security planning. That includes sectors of fire, "shooting positions" fall back positions etc. My son-in-law, a former Lansing Police officer, is pretty sure that my wife and I could hold off a dozen armed intruders armed for at least an hour and a half, more than long enough for the battle to be resolved in our favor. And no, we're not "prepper" end of the world types. When the Sheriff says we need to be prepared to hang on for an hour, I listen.

Maj John Bell A well thought out plan that you can execute is essential in the defense of anything worth defending. While my wife isn't part of the actual defense plan, she is well aware of what is expected to keep her safe, and I believe that I can personally defend against up to five for long enough to eliminate them or the arrival of backup.

MSgt Stephen Council - My wife is one helluva tactical shooter, and as a farm wife she has shown the grit at butchering time to put down animals, quickly and efficiently. I am not one to leave a valuable asset on the shelf. On the flip side, it keeps me in line, cuz I'm pretty sure if she got the jump on me, it wouldn't go well for me. :)

BUWAHAHAHAHA I lived most of my Life in Ky, just off the boarder of Tennessee and Virginia. Was stationed in Ft. Campbell, just north of Nashville. There are guns ALL over the place there and the rednecks ARE NOT ashamed to use them in the PROPER way and instance!
