This Article is about my Grandfather. He is the reason that I enlisted, and served. He passed on 03 June 2014. He also received the French Legion of Honor in January of 2012 at the French Consulate in Atlanta. His awards are: Frnch Legion of Honor, Distinguished Flying Cross, Air Meadal with 4 OLC, Good Conduct, American Defense, ETO Campaign with 4 Stars, Presidential Unit Citation with 1 OLC.

Thank you for sharing-Your grandfather certainly added his name to the list of Tennessee Volunteer heroes! By the way, noticed you're a "local feller" as well...if you're ever in Harriman, I'd be honored to by a round and toast you and your heroic ancestor.
