Monday was a bittersweet day for me. My father joined the Army at the tail end of WII, serving in occupied Japan. He returned to US and worked as a telephone lineman. In 1951 he joined the North Carolina State Highway Patrol. He retired in 1989 as the Commander. A bridge overpass was dedicated in this honor Monday. Many relatives, current LEOs, and retired troopers that in grew up with were in attendance. Miss you dad.
