Good for perspective in these current times.

PO1 William "Chip" Nagel - Hundreds of years ago, soldiers from the king on down wore the cross on their uniforms and on their shields and fought to enrich the king and his cronies. They told people they were "defending the faith."

Today, we soldiers from the CinC on down pretty much do the same things for the same reasons but we keep the cross hidden and tell people we're doing it to "defend our nation."
