Actor Richard Dreyfuss recently appeared on Fox TV news. His message was simple: Join me in doing something to counteract our secondary schools not teaching enough American History! Mr Dreyfuss specifically referred to lack of knowledge of the Preamble to the Constitution and the Constitution itself.
Gettysburg and the Civil War are milestones in our history. If more Americans had a better knowledge of American history, wouldn't they be more appreciative and understanding of each other?

I believe that the liberal elements of our country doesn't want the people to know anything about the civil war or especially anything related to the constitution. It would mean that they would not be able to BS people.

I tend to give him the benefit of the doubt. Even if he is a liberal in other areas, this is an area I can agree with him. That said, the website is a bit funky. It didn't seem like there was much there besides signing up and/or contributing financially.

I certainly have a strong and abiding interest in history including the history of this nation.
I strongly support more interest in US history with an emphasis on those who have influenced the growth of this nation - that does not include pop stars and cultural icons.
Hopefully more secondary schools will be reversing the trend of dissing the founding fathers, for instance.
