Anybody who has ever been to Fayetteville knows that Paddy's is not where you go for a secret rendezvous. That place is crawling with joes.
And that First Sergeant is a retard.

I never understood why any senior NCO or officer would ever mess with anyone junior. Why? It's just not worth it. It's not worth a career. No type of sex is worth a career.

SFC (Join to see) - Maybe getting after someone half your age has allure if you don't have a moral compass.
The stakes are so high for someone like this, though.
Almost certainly, not his first time, either.

1SG (Join to see) - Oh that was definitely not his first time. That's why he did it.
I just don't get it. I have zero interest in younger guys. At all.

I don't have any sympathy for the SFC 1SG … but I don't understand why his name was released and the private's was not. Both were punished and her relationship with him was consensual and not coerced ... so she is not a victim. While I don't care whether I know either of their names, releasing one without the other lends a perception of favoritism and special treatment of females to the incident.

I asked the same thing. I feel like at one time someone explained why in these cases but I can't remember. She should have her name published too. I don't think it has to do with her being female. I think it's because of the senior to subordinate relationship perhaps. I think even if the other person had been a male they wouldn't publish the name.

SFC (Join to see) - Typically the media will not publish the names of victims of sexual assaults. Were she a victim, I'd understand it … but she isn't, at least according to the article. I agree with you that the reason isn't that she is female … but absent an explanation, that is the perception that is created.

My guess is that they ate trying not to stigmatize one of the first handful of female infantry Soldiers early on in the integration process. Much as the Army would have you think otherwise, the scarlet letter follows you.

LTC (Join to see) - I know how it works with sexual assault. She wasn't sexually assaulted - she was punished too. I just am making an assumption why they didn't post her name. I don't know why.

See my post above about how a different female was identified and has been harassed.
