This site honors the horses that served in World War 1. I did not know much of their story until I came across this site. I read somewhere on the site that six million horses and mules were killed in WWI. Many of the horses came from the US and not many came home. This lady made it her mission to save as many as she could. A story of WWI you dont read about often.

Sounds like a good organization. Breaks my heart to hear about animals suffering. Horses are beautiful, strong animals and I pray that they are treated lovingly and removed from abusive conditions. Will put on my Facebook page to hope get more publicity for this organization.

SFC George Smith Me too George. I had no idea the role the animals played in WWI and was not aware of this organization until I read about it. Some of the pictures were horrible to see animals suffering as they did.

SFC William Farrell - They actually had a role in the early part of WWII also. I read the memoirs of a German officer who was part of an artillery unit, and that unit used horses.
