Hotel Malware: A Multi Stage Malware Campaign

Maj (Join to see) When I travel I download movies and reading materials onto my PC and Tablet before I leave for the trip. If I am doing something that requires internet, I do the search on my phone using mobile data rather than hotel WiFi that way I know what data is being used. I do it for this exact reason. I don't trust strange Wi-Fi.

I had an office PC hit by what I thought was a receipt from a hotel stay. When what seemed to be a busy in “cranking” made the PC sluggish, I cold booted it, only to find most of the .doc files were gone. The script was reading Word, Excel and other files sequentially.
