Okay, my friend PO1 William "Chip" Nagel
I had to chuckle at the title but since this NPR no surprise :-)
Since Canada is:
(1) significantly larger than USA;
(2) is closer to Communist China and Taiwan than the USA physically; and
(3) is more socialist than the USA at present;
Then it is reasonable that Canada can be considered a buffer zone between the economic behemoths of China and the USA.
Tariff negotiations are complex balancing acts after all.

Thank you for mentioning me, my friend SSgt (Join to see)

The Chinese don't play fair and they make sure that all the Chinese X Patriots associations have talking points that come from the the red Chinese government. a lot of these protesters are paid protesters. The Chinese are not too much difference in the Iranian who harassed local who don't talk their version of the truth. 6 years ago, Steven Harper kicked out the Iranian Embassy but the Chinese or too valuables so they get away with a lot in Canada. Canadians also pay an 18% Duty on anything made in China. Not only China but turkey as well.
