How do you react when someone thanks you for your service? I wrote about it today on my blog and would be interested in your thoughts.

I always tell them they are welcome and many times include that it was my honor to serve.

I just say "Thank You" in return and then tell them that "I don't do much in the Army, just make a bunch of Officers mad."

Capt Mark Strobl - I only add that "officer" part in because in Iraq, I did make a lot of Field Grade Officers mad during my LSA inspections. I would do my health and welfare/sanitation checks of all LSAs (to include the field grade living areas) on base of Basra and report my findings. I was told numerous times I need to re-write my Memo for Records because I was making them sound like they were slobs and not policing themselves. Obviously, I did not re-write my memos.
