He doesn't have the DESIRE to run! Why run when your HEART isn't it? Despite the many calls for him to run!

You have hit upon a major issue. Colin Powell could have been elected easily, but refused to be considered because he did not have a clear vision of what he would do if elected.

A better plan would be to get the Republican Party to draft him as their candidate if Trump isn't able to lock up the nomination by the convention.

If this happens, then how would any legislator really be able to tell their states that their votes actually count? I believe this is a "last ditch" effort by the GOP knowing they really do not have anyone in their D squad to oppose HRC in an honest election. I also believe to do this to America would really stir the pot regardless of political party, and the things we actually want to happen would happen; but Mattis would be the first casualty. He doesn't deserve to be a "pawn" for a party who was played by Trump and Cruz. Mattis is a good man, leader, and someone I respect. I would not vote for him not because of him, but because I see this as blatant disrespect to him by calling in a quick "replacement" for their ineptitude and lack of foresight.

Does anyone really care if their votes count? If we really cared, We the People would vote, wouldn't we? Have you looked at the numbers of those who don't bother? If we really cared, We the People would choose our candidates with care, wouldn't we? Have you looked at the number of incumbents are reelected despite the fact that they fail by every measure in their elected offices? Have you looked at the disapproval ratings? If so, you should understand what I mean by failure. If we really cared, would any of the presumptive candidates for President be anywhere on our election radar? A wealthy clown? A self-serving woman with no discernible qualification beyond blind ambition? A senile clown?
