Definitely Agree!
That movie ‘jump-started’ his career!
At least there was a bit’ of realism in this movie...IMHO

AFVN was a blast when we could hear it due to the Infantry does not carry radios in the field. Sometimes you could pick up a radio station from California on a PTRC-25. The first song I heard in Vietnam was "I heard it in the grapevine" by Marvin Gaye. The last song I remember was by Creedence was the same song, their version. AFVN played different types of music for different groups. However, the news did not inform you on what was happeneing back in the world. You learned better news from a FNG. The first night in the rear was party night with the music blaring. Good post!
