I was never impressed with the M3 Grant/Lee Tank but this story showed me some redeeming info

I always think of this tank and Humphrey Bogart defending at Oasis against Germans during the Battle of North Africa

Its primary redeeming feature was getting a large caliber gun that could knock out German tanks to the battlefield quickly.
