On my last deployment to Afghanistan was on JSOTF-A (Joint Special Operations Task Force Afghanistan) Village Stabilization task Force working and living on out post in the villages. You have to think outside the box, so we got some Kettlebells Bells, medicine balls, balance balls and TREX for our build teams that traveled to all the SOF VSP, VSA and fire bases. We also required them to get taped every time they came back from a long trip, as our Battlion did tape every moth on deployment. Yes some Navy units and communities believe in PT and living healthy as an important way of like and part of the mission.
We also did wind sprints and Cross fit training along with videos like P 90 X and other HITT type workouts.

That's a way to keep yourself fit. I think I would have collapsed sometime within the day, lol.
