Has anyone forgotten how many prop planes were made that supposedly were going to be great and only turned out okay. Ships have the same issues. Granted an Aircraft Carrier is a major build project and if anyone works in a tech company they will know that software issues are always what hamstring you. I have faith that they will iron out the catapults. I say congrats on the new tech and iron it out. PS. I was in an F-14 Squadron on the CV-59 Forrestal and the mistakes they made in fire fighting were never forgotten. Constantly watched those videos and then had to review the new training procedures and if there was new equipment or procedures then we trained all of it again.

I am all for new tech that makes sailor's lives at sea easier, but it needs to be tested long before it sees implementation. For some reason, we have forgotten how to bench test. Personally, I think it is because the brass and Congress critters are excited by the bright shiny new thingamajig, and aren't listening to the sailors on the deck plate that will actually use it...
