How SpaceX Recovers Falcon 9 after Drone Ship Landings - Port Canaveral Recovery Operations

When rockets used to be launched, just a few years ago, there was no safe return of the booster part of the rocket and it/they fell back into the ocean as scrap...at a high cost to replace... SpaceX has a new cost effective approach, which allows the spent booster components of a launch to fall back, be positioned upright and land on a pad prepositioned in the ocean... But what happens then? Yep, a tugboat brings the Booster back to its launch facility... and then it goes through a substantial process to make it ready for another launch...

This video will show you the process it goes through... It is on an accelerated time video setting, so things move along pretty fast... Still it is a long video, but in my view I now understand the process and am rather amazed at what is done and it is still a cost savings so that the entire Booster, engines and all are saved, refitted and prepared for re-launch at a later date... Pretty awesome and innovative if you ask me...
