So many times we have a really good idea for an aircraft, but by the time we bring it from the drawing board to reality a lot of other interested parties have become involved and try to stick things on there.

We ran into the same issue in the U.S. Army when We brought the Apache on board, there were so many conflicting interests and folks you wanted to do things it wasn't designed to do, that he wasn't able to carry a payload of all those things. Eventually there were a lot of compromises including one that gave up fuel for bullets, in order to arm the mini-gun on the nose that just has 300 rounds.
