Lots and lots went to Argentina where they were welcomed with open arms. Great book called The Nazi Hunter that I read years ago

When I was looking to buy a house my wife and I looked at a house owned by this old German couple. When we were looking through the house in one of the bedrooms it was like walking into a museum of the Third Reich. Nazi flags, books, pictures on the wall of people in uniform and - no kidding - even a picture of Adolf in a frame on a bookshelf. Just guessing the old man was a Nazi and somehow was able to get in. Me and my wife did not buy their house - but we do call it the Nazi house as we did buy nearby. Great info in how these individuals were able to get to America
