I've Witnessed The Changes, Some Better & Some Worse.
And We're Also Known As "Hawaii's 9th Island" Due To The Sheer Number Of Hawaiians Living Here.
As Our Racial Climate Has Changed, So Has The Crime Rate... It's Gone Up Considerably..
When You Ask A Senior Las Vegan: "What Are Your Best Memories Of The Years You've Lived In Vegas"? Most Will Reply, Without Hesitation, "When The MOB Was Running This Town".... Reasoning? The Mob Protected The Tourists And The Residents Very Well. Crime Was Low Because The Mob Hit The Streets & Solved The Problems Immediately, Because They Wanted The WORLD To Know, "Vegas Is The Safest Place To Vacation, And Enjoy Our Entertainment"... And, In Doing So, The Tourists Flowed In & Brought With Them MILLIONS Of Dollars Every Day...
You May Or Might Not Be Aware Of This, But Oscar Goodman Was Our Mayor For 2 Full Terms;
Then Carolyn Goodman, His Wife, For 2 More Terms. ... Perhaps It Doesn't Sound All That Unusual, UNTIL You Realize Oscar Was A Very Successful Mob Defense Attorney... And, When He And Carolyn Ran This City, Things Got Done..... And Just Recently, Had To Elect A New Mayor... But Only Because We Ran Out Of "Goodman's" To Run This Town As It Should Be Run ~ Successfully.
