How the Poppy Came to Symbolize World War I

The tradition of the red poppy is shared by many of the western powers who fought with the British in WWI. Here in the USA, the Veteran's of Foreign Wars (VFW) hold "poppy drives" in connection with all patriotic holidays, to raise $$s in support of America's Veterans of all wars.
