A weird article with crazy assumptions. People do not wander the streets of America with benefits. There are no "benefit police" making sure that everyone has "free this/free that." This is an oft-stated critique I hear from well-meaning conservatives. They also tend to factor "God" into the stew as well, prior to giving it a big stir. The first thing we need to understand is that benefits can't be sent. If my children and family in Glowdovia are starving, I cannot send them American food stamps or American healthcare. So that myth needs to be erased. People who are starving "where they're from" are here for money which you get from a job. So the key is to simply stop hiring these people. People do not wander aimlessly from state to state. I should know. I flew into America from England, landing in Norfolk, Virginia. When the job market there did not pan out, I simply left. I did not wander the state looking for handouts. I arrived in Florida where I found work and then, when work in Orlando didn't pan out, I moved to Melbourne, Florida where I am currently. Juan and Rosa are the same. They are going to go where they are hired.
We also seem to feel that these benefits sit around unguarded in a huge pile. If you have a social security number then you can get benefits if you meet those requirements. As an example, I am presently unemployed. So I get food stamps. And they are not in a big pile with the democrats (funny as I live in a republican state!) urging me to take as many as I can carry. Now if there is a window in the SSN system that allows someone to forge/falsify numbers then that's hardly a fault of the illegal alien him/her self. And that is something that a wall is not going to fix.
