When she was little I heard of a event that really made sense and I did it and it helped. When she was around 5 or 6 we started what was called daddy date night. We got dressed up in nice casual clothes, she got ready withher mommas help and we went out on a "date". It gave me one on one time with her but more than that it showed her how she was supposed to be treated as a lady. If her date didn't treat her that way, then she knew that it probably wasn't the right person for her. I mean things like opening doors, letting her go first through doors and ordering dinner, letting her pick the events like bowling or movies or getting ice cream etc. She knows what to expect and how to handle herself. I think it worked out good. She is 19 now and in college and has dated a few times.

My daughter has class and common sense and her judgement in who she wanted to date was impeccable. In fact when she chose the man she was going to marry someday I couldn't have found a young man as nice as he is. They are in love and have three beautiful children now, my grandchildren Jaden, Jalissa, Jaylee and I couldn't be happier for them.

My 12 year old displayed courage in telling me she had a boyfriend. Then she proceeded to freak me out when she said they would pretend to be husband and wife. "Hell no and you're grounded till you go to college!" I said. Then I calmed down and we had a long talk. Her first chaperoned date to the movies went well; probably cause her mother was the chaperone. Haha!
