Interesting article, but I've encountered some pretty stalwart "gun control" advocates for whom there is no "logical" answer. I once (somewhat foolishly) used the whole, "But what if your family was in danger?" example... my opponent clearly stated (convincingly, I might add) that since they lacked the skill to use a weapon...they felt their best chances were to not "provoke" the attackers and hope for the best. I think that response is telling, and covers at least half of the issue: we live in a time when physical aggression has been so repressed, most individuals are indeed simply helpless, and know it.

The other half is likely covered by those who, for varying reasons, simply think it's wrong to kill... whatever the circumstances...and the few (controlling minority) who see both mentalities as a means to gain total control.

Yes. Unfortunately, now, the school systems will expel your kid for defending themselves.

The most effective convincing tool I have seen is the fact everyone knows Venezuela banned guns entirely in 2012. Unless they are truly socialist, they think what's happening there is a tragedy.

You know how I do it? Very simply. I tell them this: "I will make you a fair trade... You give up your First Amendment Rights in entirety, I will give up my 2nd Amendment rights... Fair trade, right?"

The reactions.. well, they are priceless.
