Whether or not you have kids is of no consequence to me as a boss. If I have two people here and one has kids and the other doesn't I cannot afford to favor the one with kids for time off etc. If you need to take time off to be with the kids then you have to take vacation time or sick time etc. A job is a job and you know what it takes when you sign up. Hate to be cold but as a businessman I have one thing to be concerned with...the bottom line. I will try to schedule work for all employees equally so that it won't interfere with off duty plans but the answer for me is that all employees are equal across the board.

Lt Col Scott Shuttleworth
Sgt Wayne Wood - I didn't mean each position is equal across the board but when it comes to time off or extra work then yes...single or married parent or not that line is equal to me...all I see is an employee needing to get the job done. They are both employees and they each have their job to do...I need each one of them to do it. If they need time off the only equitable way to do it is to tell all employees is that they have to take either sick or vacation time if something comes up.

...or you could get married, have kids, and enjoy the benefits. Of course, you'll need a raise in your salary

CPT Jack Durish
Sgt Wayne Wood - Sounds like the government. I went through three job titles in three years and never got a raise
