This is a subscription site. While this article looks interesting, I don't (yet) have a subscription to this site. With all the leanings, right and left, that can be found today, I was wondering if anyone knew more about this site in particular. It has a ton of what I am interested in and if it is a good, neutral science based site, I am going to subscribe.

Don't for a second believe that science is neutral. It is bought and paid for. Most research depends heavily on government subsidy, corporate subsidy, or scaring the crap out of people as a fund raising tool. Regardless of where the issue falls in the left vs right, conservative vs progressive, or eco-warrior vs "the Earth can take it" crowd... follow the money.

I’ve gone both ways on New Scientist... some is good, hard fact... some is kinda wacky.
But it’s always thought provoking.
