SSgt Mark Lines - I thought overwrite upgrades were historically unstable in Linux. Podnutz told me that. Anyway, I've considered it safe regardless of the OS.

Interesting article. Not the way I would do it though. I have found that there is too much instability after an in-place upgrade. I have gotten better results by doing a back-up, complete wipe, then a fresh install.
