I'm going to go out on a limb and respond before I read this, then test to see if I'm anywhere in the ballpark. I think we already see Jihadist strategy evolving in the recruitment, indoctrination, and training of indigenous personnel rather than infiltration. The Internet, for all its many blessings, is also a curse. Children overdosing on it are exposed to ideologies that are not consistent with Americanism or the Rule of Law. And, inasmuch as we have been neglecting our children, failing to teach them to honor America's past and always seek to correct its problems, they are empty vessels just waiting for some dedicated Jihadist to fill them up.

If looking at the US picture? Have to look strategically at the issue Jack - and the US is but a small piece of picture... despite our often thinking it is the large. Think you will see after you finish reading the article itself.

IMV, they will not go away, but continue metastasizing throughout the free world and we may never eliminate them. Did the Crusades resolve anything?

The Crusades revive Europe after the Dark Ages maybe that's it.

Recalll the real reason the Crusades were called for initially -- and that was to support Byzantium after its losses after the decisive battle of Manzikert , they then evolved from that to taking back the Holy Land and Syria, retaining the Holy Land, regaining the Holy Land, the reconquest of Spain, and of course the conquest of Lithuania. The re-written version is much more Christian vs Muslim... but was never really the case... to that end - it was the ideology of it that is in the same mindset of what we now face
