Human matter found left on surgical tools forces BAMC to close operating rooms

I don't think this issue is limited to just Brooke Army Medical Center. Hospitals the world over have issues with equipment that isn't properly sterilized. Some of it is something as simple as the device design makes 100% sterilization all but impossible (think tiny moving parts, areas that are difficult to access, etc). Others are just overworked staff that may not be as observant as they could have been. Or worse, staff that just doesn't care as long as their paycheck comes regularly.
