I joined the Army. The Army didn't join me. Unfortunately many people in society think that the rules have to be changed to suit them. We aren't a social Petri dish.

I say let them enlist if we are ever faced with a "Starship Troopers" scenario. If we are ever engaged in an interstellar war with giant fire-breathing bugs, I'd say all sexual norms can go out the window. Until then if you don't identify with the correct gender you can look for employment elsewhere.

I would agree with you, but then we would both be wrong. The biggest problem we have in our military today is the sense of "me" outweighing the sense of "we". Too many Soldiers fail to adapt and understand they are Soldiers 24/7. They believe that they come first and everything else is secondary. Politicians use the military as a lab experiment without concern for readiness. The military has often been at the lead in regards to social change. Racial integration was led by the military and has had far reaching positive effects on society. The transgender policy does nothing to enhance readiness and actually uses up limited resources and, if not harms, at the least does nothing to enhance readiness and good order and discipline.

Kinda what's wrong with all of it- they always have to throw in you hate me. I don't really hate anybody. Wording and meaning go a long way to whining for me. I posted yesterday on one of my feeds- I could care less as long as you perform. I don't want to pay for any of your personal choices just like I don't expect you to pay for anything I want to do. I would have limited the ban to if your going to go through the change- pay for it yourself. Anyone willing to raise their right hand- come on down. DO NOT EXPECT any special treatment.

Maj Marty Hogan - Did I say it was okay to assume anything? Nope. I love it when people put words into my mouth or tell me I said things I didn't say. It's so much fun.

SFC Kelly Fuerhoff - your statement was some people do...and so on/ and 1 or 100. My original response had nothing to do with anyone but my own opinion. I am not disagreeing with you, but my exact point was because one person does- not everyone does. My answer was general in nature- not disagreeing with you. I took your answer as if 1 person feeling that way- taints everyone else. Make sense?

Huh, go figure. I always thought that people fought because they were put in a situation of kill or be killed..........this sheds an entirely new light on warfare though. People fight for idealism. OK then, time to enlist the protest group Code Pink, they must really be great in battle.

SPC Erich Guenther Some will join a cause or organization with the intent and purpose of changing it to meet their agenda. I think that is the fight they are talking about.
