If California’s the future, why are so many leaving?

Well, prices of homes, traffic, rent and crime you name it. To go along with the states obsession to punishing law abiding citizens with the over bearing gun laws. Which in fact the laws has done little if nothing to deter criminals and crime. I would please like to hear comments from those that live here currently or have lived here in the past.
