If You Live in Freedom, Thank the British Empire

Well, to be fair, I can't agree with this presentation in its entirety although I agree with it in principle. There are some errors, notably the idea that the British Empire instilled in us the idea of inalienable rights. That's an American invention. Brits enjoy rights granted to them by their sovereign and must accept it when they are taken away from time to time under exigent circumstances. Most other commonwealth nations of the former British Empire accede to a similar idea. Canadians and others have had temporary infringements on their rights. Such rights are not inalienable. They are gifts from the sovereign. Sadly, Britain today is succumbing to other forces as immigrants who do not wish to be "British" are growing in numbers and political power.
