TSgt Kenneth Ellis - Yeah he said something stupid back in the day but there is no "Biden Rule". Nice opportunity to bust his chops though and I understand.

TSgt Kenneth Ellis - If we are to follow the 'Biden Rule' then we can expect an up or down vote on the SCOTUS nominee . After all that Biden said in the end he allowed every nominee to have their vote .

TSgt Kenneth Ellis - the democrats never did it. Name a republican scotus nominee that the democrats refused to give a hearing because it was an election year.

It's still not going to go anywhere. He is just doing it because he is in a blue/purple state.

TSgt Kenneth Ellis - Sergeant; Of course he is. I mean, why pay any attention to "the party line" or "the legal principles involved" if it means that you might not get re-elected so that you can do the exact opposite of what you say you should do?

COL Ted Mc - This has been going on for a while. Nothing new. And he is not the majority leader. The Democrats made the rules.

TSgt Kenneth Ellis - Sergeant; There are no "rules". When the Republicans wanted to hold hearings during the declining months of President Bush's administration, the Democrats (who controlled the Senate) said that they shouldn't (NOT that they would not hold any regardless of who the candidate was) and eventually meetings WERE held.
When the Democrats wanted to hold hearings during the declining months of President Obama's administration, the Republicans (who controlled the Senate) said that they would not hold any meetings - regardless of who the candidate was.
The situations are NOT as parallel as you would like to think and BOTH sides have "flip-flopped" on the issue.
