In Africa, China Is the News

China has stepped up its economic penetration of Africa by looking to dominate the news media, as well. This, coupled with Russia's increased activity intended to increase the Bear's influence over governments on the continent, mentioned in an update by Maj Ivan Raiklin posted this morning, leads one to wonder if the Chinese and now the Russians are not involved in a pseudo-colonial race for territory in Africa. Do you think the Chinese and Russians have any more benevolent ideas for their subjects than the Belgians, French, Germans, Brits, and Portuguese did when they had their scramble for African influence and territory?
