It would be really good if they made money. Communication is great but it has to be effective. The measure of effective in the auto business is making money.

Did you talk to the actual employees (particularly, management) about this policy and how well it works out. Without the various levels to resolve petty complaints, it would appear to clog up the system at the senior levels. The idea is good at first blush, but sure would like to see it in action at more than Tesla to determine it's efficacy.

I was thinking the same thing. I think there should be a command critical information regulation like in the military. On duty, I could call the CO if a Marine died, but I didn't need to speak to him on a daily basis. It's a good idea, but I find the implementation is incredibly difficult.

Let me tell you, if you get the opportunity to express your views or questions to senior management (as used in private industry terminology), my advice is to know where they stand on topic. May be fine in Tesla, but can be career ending or, at a minimum, limiting. I have seen it happen.

I could see how this would work well in problem solving. However I see a potential problem in circumventing non-performing managers - peers would need to push back.
