As we all know, many, if not most, farmers depend on migrant workers (illegals) to work their fields. Small farms do not have the profit margin to pay minimum wage, so they have to hire as cheap labor as available, legal or not.
Been that way forever (at least back to the '50's I know)
Even the large ag businesses hire mostly migrants.
