Thank you SPC Anna Larson for making us aware of New Mexico 501(c)(3) non-profit "Rockin J Reawakenings" whose mission is to "provide veterans and their families a peaceful environment to rest, reflect and rehabilitate with the support of their fellow-veterans, families and like-minded individuals, as well as give back to our community through special events and support of local organizations."
"Reawakenings was created by veteran families for veteran families & individuals, encompassing a long-time goal of its founders to give back and share the beauty and perspective of their world with others who need a new view on life. Our goal is to aid in rehabilitation through both connecting and reconnecting with nature as well as through use of therapy dogs and equines. It is our desire to help people find their true self and work through life’s hardships while learning a trade or developing a skill useful to them and their future. As the program has grown we have been providing both direct and indirect support of veterans dealing with VA issues and treatments and hope to soon have a transportation offering based from our location in Prewitt, NM.
Our Veterans Center and Ranch is nestled in the cascading red rock bluffs of Casamero, NM which provides a unique locale to re-connect and re-center oneself. We have over 2500 acres at our disposal with elevations ranging from 6500 feet to 8500 feet. We are located 15 minutes from the Zuni Mountains, MT Taylor Ranger District, and Bluewater Lake. Our location is deep in history and rich in unparalleled beauty. This alone has healed the souls of many and continues to this day.
Rockin J Reawakenings Veterans Center & Ranch is located at 234 County Road 19, Prewitt, NM. We are approximately 2 miles past the junction of CR 19 and State Rd 122, just past Old Landfill Road."
Thank you for mentioning me SFC Joe S. Davis Jr., MSM, DSL
