As one that lived most of my formative years, I couldn't agree more. It is and has been in constant flux. Most of my remaining family and friends never left home, except for occasional work assignments and live in a small contained area.

I love a good story and that's what history is - our story. I know the story/history of Maryland far better than other states because that's where I grew up. I knew a little of Indiana because I spent some time there (Ft Ben Harrison) and always take time to smell the roses wherever I go. However, I had little depth of understanding. Of course, I'll have to check all that was reported in this telling of Indiana's story, but it at least piqued my interest to take a look. Lacking a firm understanding of a region's history may be why so many pollsters go astray in predicting election results. Of course, it's not the only reason. Ideology (wishful thinking) is another reason they miss the boat...
