Inmate protests execution drugs as worse than a firing squad

Last one for the morning- I am going to address the white elephant in the room. Do we care they have to suffer a bit? Subject of the story killed an entire family of four, but it is OK because he was abused and a drug addict. I don't see anywhere in the reading where he asked them how they wanted to be killed- he selected stabbing and beating them to death, which seems even worse for the innocent victim as they had to wait their turn. Maybe we should stab and beat him to death?
