Wouldn't surprise me. When my oldest brother died the local ambulance service sent my Mom letters for months trying to bill him for ambulance ride to VA Hospital. It had been authorized by VA, but they weren't paying fast enough. I kept telling her to forget it and just give me the letters. I finally wrote them after several months and told them he was dead and they should not expect payment. He'd already fulfilled the 2 inescapable debts, death and taxes, and to quit writing. They eventually quit writing but only after threatening to turn him in to a collections agency. Like that was going to hurt him. If he was looking down I think he got a laugh out of it.

This is and will be more common as we move further with socialized health care. Look at the recent media frenzy about the child in the UK with an ailment that their socialized medicine deemed not treatable. This is a common event that the proponents of socialized medicine don't want to talk about.

These insurance companies are freaking crooks. I dont care who comes up with health care for this country. These insurance companies need to be held accountable for these prices. To bad there is no politican brave enough to take them on.
