Thanks for sharing. I have read that many senior folks at State Dept. have been booted and their slots will remain vacant. If people leave out of protest then they probably are doing the right thing, because they likely would impede the effort if they stayed. It's like "if your heart isn't in it then get your a** out". I've always thought that we could trim almost any Department, Agency or similar by 1/4 or even more and still get the job done. My opinions are likely skewed due to being a Marine, and being accustomed to getting by with bare bones minimum though. A good test is that if the person takes a month off and is not missed then they probably aren't that critical. I know that's a simplistic way of viewing it, but it makes sense to me. I'd guess that not all positions have clear responsibilities and are there just because they always have been. There are also redundancies across the board between agencies. I'm always for thinking outside the box if it makes sense, and with $20 trillion of debt anything that saves money makes sense as long as output remains constant.
