I find things like this fascinating. My grandmother has hundreds of letters from either her dad, or her grandpa, written to his wife while he was stationed over seas in the middle of WWII. One of the funny things about them, is he went a wall for 30 days after the war and toured Europe! Lol... I can't recall all the details of what happened to him when he got back. But I think I remember reading he said the punishment was worth the crime of going a wall...lol....
I'm curious to know if people keep journals or something like letters of the accounts. The history a lone is such a treasure. But I would imagine hard to live with as well.
