The 13 April event put on by the Ground Forces highlighted the parlous state of its armour, the best Iranian tanks being the T-72s operated by the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC).
While fitting a Type 59/69 turret might be a better way to upgun a M47M than putting a 105 mm into the original turret, it seems unlikely the Ground Forces will expend significant resources on producing what is ultimately an obsolete tank.
The Bahman, however, could be more successful as the Iranians have created a highly mobile air defence system that effectively replaces the T-55 hull of the ZSU-57-2 with a truck that will be far easier to maintain.
